CANPower System Overview

The unique CANPower system has been developed in response to a growing demand for vehicle auxiliary electronics that are simple to install and maintain, whilst complying with vehicle wiring regulations. CANPower is a modular system of units, which can work independently or together to perform many battery management and electronic switching functions. The units communicate using their own CANbus, which is a very widely used standard for connecting control units and subsystems in automotive applications.

CANPower systems come with default settings, suitable for general use and can be fitted directly to the vehicle. Because many users have their own specific requirements, which may change over time, the CANPower system also incorporates a serial/USB PC/Laptop interface.

Our purpose written free software means that all the units connected to a CANPower system can be accessed using this single connection. The units can therefore not only be set by the installer, but also changed later, with no need to remove them from the vehicle. This software is available free on our website.
